The Benefits Of Childrens Ministry

By Marissa Velazquez

In this day and age, kids grow up in a world which is filled with a lot of pain and heartache because of what they are faced with. This comes from their friends at school or even what is going on in home. This is why childrens ministry is necessary either on a Sunday, in a school situation or something which should be incorporated in homeschool.

There are many different ways to go about this. One popular method is to introduce kids to the world of outreach. They may come across kids of their own age who are from a disadvantaged home, and this will give them greater understanding into the situation . They will develop a sense of compassion and empathy.

A lot of parents take their children to soup kitchens or to an area where they can play games and sport with other kids. At the same time, it is a nice idea to donate sports gear or give other childen something like a ball. For city and suburban children, they may be used to seeing these things, but another child from a poor home will really be delighted.

One can go as a family and spend time doing outreach together or your kids can join a team and explore other avenues. This can be a fun thing to do and it is also something to look forward to. They will learn to use their gifts well, and this can include something adventurous like skateboarding or surfing. Once they have shown others how this is done, they will be able to spread the word.

This does definitely not have to be boring. There is a way for the lessons to be planned, using resources and some thought, where kids will really enjoy them. The aim is to get them interested and in that way they will definitely want to come back for more the next week. You will also feel rewarded, and less frustrated.

It is not just about the theoretical side, such as reading out of the bible and listening to stories to increase your faith. As a Christian, you also have to do your part to make sure grow in your faith. Doing outreach is a nice way for the family to spend some time together, and at the same time you will be making someone else really happy.

It is important to make each lesson fun and you can do this by keeping them busy. Think about lesson planning with some variety. This especially applies to younger kids who tend to lose focus and concentration. They will need their mind to be occupied with activities like face painting or the making of vases, which relates to the bible.

It is great for children to be able to learn the theory side and then follow up with a couple of practical exercises. By doing this, you will make sure that they will really be remembering what has been said. This is the type of childrens ministry that does not go in one ear and out the other.
